Consign at Springs Bridal

What is Consignment?

Springs Bridal is a true consignment boutique.  We do not buy items outright.  We sign a contract to try to sell your items for you for six months.  When your item sells, a check is automatically mailed to you. Items are priced at what we think they will sell for in our store, generally about 60% of their original retail price, sometimes less, sometimes more. Our consignors receive 40% of of the final sale price of an item.

What does Springs Bridal accept?

Springs Bridal accepts new and used items for consignment. We do not buy items outright. If you choose to consign with us and your item or items do not sell by the end of your contract period you will be able to come in to the store and re-claim your items. Take some time to read through the following tips and the list of items we accept to make sure consignment with us will work for you before you make an appointment.

Spring Bridal accepts:

~ Current Style Bridal Gowns (No Vintage Gowns)
~ Bridal Bras and slips (petticoats)
~ Bridesmaids Dresses
~ Mother-of-the-Bride Apparel
~ Flower Girl and Jr. Bridesmaid Dresses
~ Veils and Hair Accessories
~ Shoes
~ Prom and Formal Occasion Gowns
~ Men's Formal Wear

All clothing must be clean, of recent style (5 years for most, 3 years for Prom dresses) and in excellent condition.   Please inspect items for stains, soil, or damage before bringing them in.  Many items can be hand washed, even wedding gowns.  Please call if you're unsure.

All other accessories must be clean and in good condition.

Springs Bridal can provide professional cleaning of your dress for a $30 fee, payable at the time of consignment.

Springs Bridal can also provide repair of small defects through our parent company The Costume Lady, LLC. Repair fees vary by item and, if they are needed, the repairs to be performed and the cost of repair will be agreed upon at the time of consignment. The cost of repair is payable at the time of consignment to The Costume Lady, LLC.

When should you consign?

There are a lot of options out there for selling your wedding gown or other item. Sometimes it's hard to know what will be the most effective for you.  At Springs Bridal we want you to have the best outcome possible, even it it's not with us.

Tip 1: Craigslist and other online marketplaces, as well as newspapers, can be a great way to sell used items. If you need a fast turnaround time, if your item has some damage or needs professional cleaning, or if the item is not currently in style, (more than 5-7 years old), this may be your best choice.

Tip 2: If your item is unusual in any way or has extremely unique characteristics that would appeal to only a select few, you may be better off going the online route so you can advertise these very specific attributes.

Tip 3:  Our favorite online sources for selling your gown are www.preownedweddingdresses.com , www.tradesy.com , www.oncewed.com
*Although we strive in every way to ensure that garments/items entrusted to us for sale are treated with respect, it must be understood that during the selling process items will be handled by customers and may be damaged.
Springs Bridal is not responsible for damage or loss to consigned items as a result of the consignment/selling process, theft, fire, flood, or other disaster. Your homeowners policy may cover loss; every policy is different and it is up to you to check with your carrier.*
